Party Time!

I’m celebrating today. It’s worldwide release day for my newest title, Secrets of Ugly Creek!

Secrets of Ugly Creek

Secrets of Ugly Creek

Come on in and have a good time.

Madison Clark comes home to Ugly Creek, Tennessee to protect her hometown from a hard-line journalist who ruined the life of a senator—what she didn’t count on was falling for the enemy.
Madison Clark is a successful journalist who volunteers for an assignment in her hometown in order to protect the quirky little place from the likes of Gibson McFain. He’s a hard-line journalist and documentary maker who has made his reputation exposing secrets. Ugly Creek has more than its share of secrets, and she knows revealing them would threaten the town’s way of life.
Gibson “Mac” McFain just wants to film a documentary in the little town, but Madison wants to make sure he doesn’t find out too much. Soon problems escalate when attacks begin against Mac and his crew. Madison seems to be as shocked as he is, but he can’t take any chances she might ruin what’s left of his career.
In spite of all this, their physical attraction pulls them together—and eventually they fall in love.
Neither trusts the other, but that doesn’t change the attraction they feel. It’s only a matter of time before they act on the desire, but will that mean sleeping with the enemy?

Now, let’s get this party started with Kool & the Gang:

Superstar Physics

220px-Michio_Kaku_in_2012A few weeks ago, January 23rd to be exact, my husband and I were privileged to attend a talk by Micho Kaku, one of the greatest scientific minds alive today. His presentation, given at Chattanooga State Technical Community College, was titled, “The Mind and Beyond” and he definitely went beyond.

Dr. Kaku offered a definition of consciousness that used a number rating system for everything from smart thermostats to humans. He spoke eloquently on many subjects including artificial intelligence, the Internet, the possibility of aliens, and of course, the human brain.

I’d seen Dr. Kaku on The Science Channel, and was pleased to find that he is as interesting and funny in person.

I can’t wait to read his new book, The Future of the Mind. It can be ordered from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and several other places. See Dr. Kaku’s website for more details. I’d also like to point out that there are science videos and articles on his site—have fun!

Have you ever been to a scientific lecture? Would you like to? Do you think the mind has undiscovered abilities?  Feel free to share.

Have a great week!

ROW 80 Sunday check in

I attended HallowCon this weekend, and had a blast. Sold one book, and a couple of people walked away with my info saying they wanted would buy one later. But that’s not the point, not really. More than anything, it’s about the fun 🙂

ROW 80. I haven’t finished all the polishing and a few other details to get the partial manuscripts out. I am committed to NaNo. Not only committed, but determined. Sooooooo…back to the writers cave until I’m done. Somebody shove a sandwich under the door once in a while, please. Goals here.
